History

In 1948, Englewood Truck Towing and Recovery was founded by Frank Cecrle in Oakwood, OH. Originally known as Frank Cecrle’s Garage, Frank had a vision to create a truck and auto repair business to serve Dayton, OH. Several years later the towing business was created. Frank bought his first heavy duty wrecker, a Holmes 850, to tow trucks into his shop for repairs. Local trucking companies and police departments learned of Frank and his abilities and began requesting his service for tows and recoveries. In 1968, as the towing and repair business grew, Frank bought a piece of property along Rt. 48 in Englewood, OH. Interstate 70 was being built through this interchange and the property would serve as the headquarters for Englewood Truck for the next 40+ years.

In the early 1990’s Englewood Truck increased its service offerings by branching into the heavy equipment transport industry. Frank and Anthony, his son and current Owner/President, realized there was a need for a specialized hauling provider in the Dayton area. They understood the needs of rental companies and contractors which led to the creation of the equipment transport division. Englewood Truck has since become the trusted name for heavy equipment hauling in the area.

Englewood Truck Towing and Recovery has followed its Mission Statement throughout the years which has allowed us to grow to 5 terminals throughout Southwest Ohio and a fleet of over 70 trucks and trailers.
